Installing Windows on a Mac should be a piece of cake with Bootcamp, but that rarely is the case. In fact, I would personally say that Boot Camp Assistant is one of the worst apps that comes with OS X and unlike the rest, it doesn't work seamlessly. Use Boot Camp to setup Keyboard & Trackpad in Windows 10 on Mac Although, Windows 10 can detect the Keyboard layout of your MacBook, yet, you may not be able to use the Function keys (F1-F12). Click either Windows 10 Pro or Windows 10 Pro based on your preference. Click Custom: Install Windows Only. Click Drive 0 Partition X: BOOTCAMP. Do not choose anything else. Hi all,
Today I am going to explain how to install Windows 10 (or 8 or 7) on any Macbook Pro or Macbook Air Or any Mac Computer,
I have searched a lot about installing Windows 10 on Macbook, and everywhere only 'Bootcamp' method has been mentioned. But as we know boot camp method sometimes not work or partially work.
Firstly I've to mentioned the main problems I've faced while installing Windows 10 on my MBP,for your information,
Macbook pro Model :
- Macbook Pro (Mid 2014 retina display)
- Ram - 8gb
I have got multiple errors on installing windows 10 on my Macbook pro mainly mentioned below,
- Black Screen After Windows 10 install and on first run
- Stuck at 'Getting Ready' screen every time i boot or restart

So lets start installing Windows 10 on Macbook Pro.
1. First we need to download Windows 10 ISO file, you can download it from Microsoft website, from the link below,
Windows 10 Download
2. Now we have to download Macbook's drivers, (note that drivers are available through boot camp only. If you don't have drivers then graphics, sound,WiFi, keyboard and touch pad will not work). As Macbook has been designed to run Mac OS, so drivers for Windows OS is not available in the wild. So the only way to download drivers for macbook is via Bootcamp.
You need at least 8 GB pen drive before proceed if you are using Macbook older than 2015 as newer macbooks can make bootable USB directly from the ISO file.
So start Bootcamp Assistant on your mac OS and go through the process by selecting 'Continue' and then selecting ISO file location.
- ISO file will be selected by default if it is in downloads folder.
- Now select partition size and go through the rest of the process of creating bootable USB on Bootcamp.
- as the process finished get your pen drive out from the USB port.
- All drivers will be downloaded in a folder called 'Bootcamp' in pen drive. That's it we have got genuine Macbook Pro drivers for Windows 10 OS.

3. Now open 'Disk Utility' and format that partition we have created in boot camp for windows 10. Make sure to select partition type as 'Exfat' and name the partition what ever you want.
4. Now find any windows computer and an another pen drive (8GB), because the USB drive we have prepared by Bootcamp has windows drivers on it. So if you dont have second
pen drive and want to use only one, in that case copy 'Bootcamp' folder to safe place on any other computer or hard drive, because we need to install it after windows 10 installation.
5. Download a tiny software called 'Rufus', you can download it from the link below,

6. Open Rufus and select Windows 10 ISO file and select your USB pen drive.
7. In partition scheme option 'GPT' has been selected by default. If it is selected as 'MBR' then select back to 'GPT' as Macbook partitions are in GPT scheme.
8. Now click on next and make bootable usb windows 10 on Rufus.
9. Restart your macbook and press 'alt/Option' key when you hear the mac chime.
10. Select 'Windows EFI' boot option
11. This will lead you to windows 10 installation screen.
12. Select Language and region and press next,
13. When it asks for upgrade or custom install, Select Custom install
14. Now select the partition we have created using disk utility and click 'Format'
15. Go through the rest of the installation process.
16. When windows start insert the pen drive which we have created with bootcamp
17. Go to 'Bootcamp' folder and install on clicking 'Setup.exe'
and you are done ! :)
Your Windows 10 installation has been completed successfully.
Now please note the following remarks before restart or shut down your windows 10 OS.
- Make a system restore point (very important in case of any problem in loading windows 10 after restart). You can make system restore point by clicking on search icon >type 'System Restore Point' > Click on 'Create'> and give it a name and click next.
- Now restart your computer and see if it loads normally.
- In case if it stuck at black screen after windows logo, please do following fixes (this works for my MBP model)
- Don't use Avast Antivirus as it creates problem of black screen in some computers
- Put your computers power option to 'High Performance'. It creates problem of black screen on my macbook.
- You can always restart in safe mode by pressing 'Shift' Key while restart and disable any trouble making software if you have trouble loading windows os normally.
That's it for now,
Enjoy your windows 10 on your macbook pro.
Well, I know its a bit complex description on how to install windows OS on mac hardware. But spare me as I am in hurry with my current ongoing projects.
But you are always welcome to throw any queries or suggestions or experiences on this topic.

Can Windows 10 run on a Mac?

Of course it can. Users have been able to install Windows on a Mac for years, and Microsoft's latest operating system is no exception. And no, the Apple police won't come after you, we swear.

By installing Windows 10, you get access to a host of new features. First you'll notice the look and feel. It's taking the flat, tile-based user interface introduced in Windows 8 and combining it with the Windows your parents know. There's a fancy new browser called Edge, and a new app switcher Mac users are sure to find familiar.

But be warned: Even though you can install Windows 10 on a Mac, that doesn't mean you should. Apple doesn't officially support Windows 10 on a Mac, so there's a good chance you may run into driver issues.

Case in point: When I tried installing Windows 10 on a new MacBook, once it rebooted into Windows, the keyboard and trackpad didn't work. And when we successfully installed it on a 2013 Macbook Pro with Retina Display, the Wi-Fi didn't work.

There are likely workarounds for these issues, but the best course of action for those who want Windows 10 on a Mac right now is probably just to wait for better solutions, or sit tight with Windows 8.1.

But for those determined to press on, here's how to do it.

Virtual, or Boot Camp?

If you've decided to install Windows on your Mac, you've got a few different options. You could run it virtually, or you can use Bootcamp to install it on a partitioned part of your hard drive.

If this is going to be a temporary look at Windows 10, or if you're only running it occasionally, it's better to run it in a virtual environment.

That means you'll run Windows as an app inside of Mac OS X. This will let you play with the interface and run some apps in order to get a feel for the operating system. But because you're really running two OSes at once, you're sacrificing performance. If you want to go this route, you can download VirtualBox or Parallels.

If you plan on making a longterm commitment to Windows 10, it's best to install via Boot Camp. This way, your computer can devote all of its resources (like its processor and RAM,) to running only Windows.

You'll be walling off a chunk of your hard drive to use only with Windows 10, and you shouldn't take this lightly. Think about how much space you'll need for your longterm needs, as the only way to adjust this later is to erase the partition and install the operating system all over again. And of course, whenever you're fussing around with your system, save a backup to an external hard drive just in case something goes wrong.

Adobe photoshop 2020 v21 0 3. Mashable chose to install via Boot Camp, since the operating system will run more smoothly.

Quick note: You'll need a Windows 10 ISO file to install the software no matter which way you choose to install. Windows 10 is rolling out only for Windows users who signed up for it earlier. If you signed up, you'll be able to download the ISO file from Microsoft's site, which you can install on a Mac.

If you didn't sign up, the retail version is coming on Aug. 31, so those who want it on a Mac may have to wait until then.

Install it with Boot Camp

Once you've decided to dive into Windows 10 on your Mac, the first thing you should think about is hard drive space.

Lots of Mac users install Windows for gaming, and that can take up a lot of space. If that's you, we recommend making about half the entire hard drive available to Windows. Another option is to install the operating system onto the hard drive, and keep games saved on an external disk.

Make sure you have an at least 8GB USB flash drive and plug it into your Mac. Open up Boot Camp, and hit continue. Cookie 5 7 5 – protect your online privacy concerns.

You'll be presented with three options. If you're doing this for the first time, leave all three checked. Your computer is about to create a bootable drive with Windows on it, then download the drivers you need so you can still use your keyboard, trackpad or mouse. However, these drivers were made for Windows 8.1, so whether or not they'll work on your machine is a bit of a gamble.

You'll be warned that the drive is about to be formatted. If you're comfortable with losing everything on that disk drive, go ahead and proceed. Next, Boot Camp will copy Windows files over and create the bootable disk drive. Once it's done with that, it'll ask you how much of your computer's hard drive you want to dedicate to Windows. You can drag the bar to set how much you want to allocate.

Then your computer will create the partition, download the drivers, and turn the flash drive into a bootable disk. Your computer should reboot into Windows. If your computer reboots into OS X, just hit restart and hold the option key while the computer is coming back on. This part might take a while, so feel free to grab some tea, or fiddle with your phone.

Once it reboots, you'll see three options: EFI Boot, Windows, and Mac. Select EFI Boot, and follow the prompts until you get to a screen with two options: one for a custom install and upgrade.

Choose custom, navigate to your partitioned drive and hit format. From then on, Windows will whisk you through the initial setup screens.

After those screens, the new Windows wallpaper will emerge, and you'll be all set. Again, that's if your drivers are working correctly.
